Olivia was a very shy person when you first meet her, but after getting to know her she can be a very outgoing and lovely person. She was sitting in the lounge just hanging out and watching a movie that was already playing on the tv. She sighed looking around this place was not the same after what happen here a couple months ago. Everyone seemed more secluded and and they would not talk very much. Well they were all getting better starting to talk to other people and such. She sighed again and watched as someone whom she did not know walk into the lounge area. She wanted to say something but she waited until this other person sat down.

The cool autumn breeze swept around Cohen as he crossed the grounds, heading for the main building. He was craving a smoke more than ever as he reached the doors and swung one of them open, stepping inside. The student hall was surprisingly empty, although not as many students have been hanging around campus that much lately. He didn't have to guess why. Everyone had been affected by the school shooting that happened not long ago.
Looking around, Cohen only spotted a young woman sitting in the lounge watching a movie. He couldn't tell what movie it was, but his interest wasn't really in watching a movie. Digging around in his jacket pocket, he crossed the Hall to one of the vending machines. It had just recently been restocked so he had a good selection of what to get. Putting in the money, he pressed the buttons and grabbed the bag of salt and vinegar chips. He then went to the vending machine with the drinks and bought himself a bottle of water.
Cohen paused as he looked around the Hall, trying to decide what to do. He had to meet with someone in the University just a few minutes earlier to talk about the classes he was taking, and now he had nothing to do. He would head back downtown but his car was getting fixed and he didn't want to take the bus at that moment.
He stood there for a moment, debating what to do. There weren't many people in the Hall, he could hang out here for the next half hour or so until his car was ready. He walked over to one of the couches and sat down, opening the bag of chips. He tried to concentrate on the movie but it didn't help that it was in the middle of it and he had no idea what movie it was. He glanced at the young woman again, who seemed to have as much interest in watching the movie as he did. He didn't say anything to her, only acknowledged her with a nod. He wasn't the type to start conversations with random people, unless he had a specific reason to.

Olivia watched the man with only mild interest, true it was her second year here but she did not know many people and it would be cool to meet people to hang out with but after what happened only a short few months before she stayed mostly to herself. She sighed once again and nodded back. Once again she glanced back toward the movie, it was some love movie that most people laughed at because of how overly romantic it was. Olivia was a ‘romantic’ but not that type where you fell in love with after only a first glance, that was just not how it happened.
After the movie was over Olivia got up and walked over to the vending machine maybe there was something in there that she would like. She went over to the water machine and started to dig into her purse for some extra change, she found it and got herself a water. Once she was done with that she went back over to the couch area she did not have anything to do anyway.
She glanced back over at the man and decided that she was going to talk to him even though she was shy at fist she needed some friends. “Hello.” she muttered, glancing shyly at him. “I’m Olivia.” she said hoping that he would not think that she was weird because she just randomly started talking to him. She smiled shyly at him.

Cohen ate a couple of the salty chips, his attention straying to the television. Now that he was paying attention to the movie, he realized it was some romance. He glanced around for the remote, wondering if the woman would mind if he changed the channel. She seemed to have as much interest in the movie as he did.
Now that he glanced to her, she greeted him and introduced herself. He noticed she spoke almost quietly, as if she was shy. He tends to have that affect on people-in the past people seem uncertain of what to say to him. He isn't always very approachable, and isn't the type to strike up a conversation with anyone. A lot of people tend to avoid him, as it's difficult to know what he's really thinking or feels about something.
"I'm Cohen," Cohen introduced himself, his piercing blue eyes watching Olivia curiously as he spoke. "Elias Cohen, actually, but you can call me Cohen." He doesn't know why he bothers with his first name. He hates it when anyone calls him by his first name. Then again, people often comment on his last name if he introduces himself as only 'Cohen' since it is not a popular name.
Cohen took a drink of his water as silence followed his last words. He always felt a bit awkward in situations such as this. He never really knew what to say to people he doesn't know, or how to keep a simple conversation going. He could tell this girl was shy, she he attempted to keep the conversation going.
"Have you been here for long?" he asked as he took another drink of the cool water. He didn't recognize her, but then again he hasn't been here for long himself. He wondered if she was here when the shooting happened, or if she was new this year. He didn't know very many people at this University. He doesn't spend a lot of time on campus, as he doesn't live in the dorms.

Olivia watched him while he introduced himself and smiled to herself. She might just have found someone to hang out with. “This is my second year hear.” she said, looking at him. “But I only just got here this year. I was off visiting my family for the break.” she said, looking at the ground. “I was not hear two months ago.” she looked back up to him to see if he understood what she meant. He must because everyone knew what happened.
“How long have you been here.” she asked, after she took a sip of her water. She put it down and waited for him to tell her an answer.

Cohen finished his chips and tossed the now empty chip bag into a garbage nearby. He knew what she was referring to when she mentioned two months ago. Cohen was at the University when the shooting happened, but was not there to actually witness it. Had he been in the location of it happening, he might have been affected more than he was. Unfortunately his mysterious and often suspicious demeanor has allowed some students to suspect he has had something to do with it.
"Not long, this is my first year here," Cohen explained as he turned his gaze back to Olivia. He had only been at the University for a couple of months before the shooting happened. He leaned back in the couch, lifting his water bottle up as he took a quick drink before he motioned towards the television, where the movie was still playing.
"Er..are you watching this?" he asked hesitantly motioning towards the television as he wondered if she would mind if he turned it off. Her attention didn't seem to be on the movie and he definitely wasn't about to start watching it. He twisted the cap back on the bottle before absentmindedly placing the bottle on the end table next to the couch. ooc: sorry for the shorter post.

Olivia turned when she heard a noise but noticed it was nothing important just someone walking down the hall. It’s true that Olivia was not at the University when the shooting happened but she did know a couple of the people that were involved and it hurt her, it also made her really sad to know that some one who was well respected and got really good grades could go off and shoot people that loved them. She sighed and brushed a stray strain of hair out of her face, and looked back over at Cohen. As she watched him she noticed that he would watch her then look away, which made her sort of suspicious of him.
“Oh so where you here a couple months ago.” she asked, quite carious because she had only talked to a couple people that was actually here. She took one more sip of her own water before she put that down and leaned in to listen to what he had to say about being here during the shooting. “If you don’t mind me asking did you know anyone that was involved?” she asked, while hoping that she was not asking to much.
Olivia turned and looked at the Tv. “I’m not watching that.” she said, turning back. “That kind of love never happens in real life. I mean love that fast never happens in real life.” she amended, while blushing a little. She never understood why she still blushed but she could not help herself. OOC. that's fine. My posts are a lot shorter then yours.. I should apologize for that.. I'm just really busy. I did not realize that this was a 2 paragraph min site.. I will make my posts longer.

Cohen leaned back in the couch, propping his feet up on the coffee table in the middle of the couches. He frowned slightly upon hearing Olivia's questions and took a moment to answer. He gazed at the television although wasn't really paying attention to the movie before glancing back to Olivia.
"Yeah, I was here. Didn't know anyone," he replied briefly. He knew it was a touchy subject and didn't really want to get into it. He was lucky enough not to witness the shootings, but he had been here when it happened. He picked up the remote off the coffee table and began flipping through channels, raising an eyebrow slightly at Olivia's comment but he didn't say anything.
He didn't find anything else on tv worth watching, but he flipped through the channels once more just in case he missed something. Finding nothing, he turned it off and put the remote back on the coffee table. If there was something Olivia wanted to watch, she could. As he expected, turning the television off resulted in a rather awkward silence after. He wasn't really sure what to say now; the subject of the shootings brought back some memories and he couldn't really think of anything else to say.

Olivia sighed she knew that the shooting subject was not one that most people wanted to talk about but for her talking about it made her feel just a little better. She decided that she would not bring it up anymore but let the other people bring it up if they wanted to talk about it. Olivia was watching the TV not really watching it but looking through it when he turned it she snapped out of her thoughts and turned to him.
“I’m sorry for bringing it up it’s just that some people feel better if they talk about their feelings and I don’t know what I was thinking. She said, looking away. She watched while he flipped through the stations twice before putting it the remote down. She sighed once more then looked back at him. “How about we talk about happier things.” she said, trying to stop the awkward silence. “I know that you have been here for a year.” she said, “But what are you majoring in?” she asked hoping that this topic would be better to talk about and not bring awkward moments.
Olivia did not really want to watch anything on the TV. She really only came down here to read a book and get a snack but since she met Cohen she decided that it would be ok to talk to him. Olivia loved to smile and be around people but that’s only because when she was young her mother died and she was thrown into a depression and she hated feeling like that. It took her all of her childhood and most of her teen years to pull herself out of it. She never wanted to feel like that again.
